The Timing Chain Case
As I have done in previous packs, I used my Metallic Gold Sharpie to add color to the ‘bolt heads’ of these parts:
Step 01
Retrieve your Cylinder Block from the previous pack. Fit the pins of the Left Camshaft Cover into the matching holes at this forward location on the Left Cylinder Head:
Secure the Left Camshaft Cover to the Left Cylinder Head with two (2) LM screws.
To match my bolt heads, I painted these screw heads with the same Metallic Gold Sharpie. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Step 02
In the same way, fit the pins of the Right Camshaft Cover into the matching holes at this forward location on the Right Cylinder Head:
Secure the Right Camshaft Cover to the Right Cylinder Head with two (2) LM screws:
Step 03
Fit the four locating pins of the Timing Chain Case into the matching alignment holes on the front of the Cylinder Block assembly, as shown:
Secure the Timing Chain Case to the Cylinder Block with four (4) HM screws.
To make these screw heads blend in better, I used my Metallic Silver Sharpie on them:
Thoughts
This Timing Chain Case is a nice big piece of metal and looks wonderful! I can’t wait to keep building this engine.
