The Speakers
Step 01
Retrieve your Pedestal assembly from the previous pack. Fit the Left Speaker Base (marked ‘L’) to this location on the underside of the Pedestal, as shown.
Be sure the recessed lip on the inside of these Speaker Base parts are facing up (arrow below):
Secure the Left Speaker Base to the Pedestal with three (3) HP screws:
In the same way, fit the Right Speaker Base (marked ‘R’) to this location on the underside of the Pedestal, as shown.
Again, make sure the recessed lip on the inside of these Speaker Base is facing up (arrow below):
Secure the Right Speaker Base to the Pedestal with three (3) HP screws:
Step 02
Fit one of the Speakers face-down into the recess of the Left Speaker Base and secure it into place with two (2) PP screws.
The wiring of this Speaker should be routed through this slot of the Left Speaker Base (arrow below):
Step 03
In the same way, fit the other Speaker face-down into the recess of the Right Speaker Base and secure it into place with two (2) PP screws.
As before, the wiring of this Speaker should be routed through this slot of the Right Speaker Base (arrow below):
Step 04
Fit the curved end of a Wire Clip over the wires of the left Speaker as shown, and secure it to the Pedestal with one (1) DP screw:
Step 05
In the same way, fit the curved end of another Wire Clip over the wires of the right Speaker as shown, and secure it to the Pedestal with one (1) DP screw:
Step 06
Connect the plugs of both Speakers to these sockets of the Printed Circuit Board. Be sure the plugs are connected correctly.
It does not matter which Speaker connects to which socket, but I did plug them into the sockets closest to each Speaker:
Step 07
Fit the two posts of the GT-R Logo into the matching holes at the lower right top of the Pedestal, as shown:
Secure the GT-R Logo into place from behind with two (2) KP screws:
Step 08
Fit the Pedestal Cover to the bottom of the Pedestal and secure it into place with four (4) HP screws.
This Pedestal Cover will need to be removed in order to access the Battery Box and add/change your batteries:
Once batteries are installed, you should hear the VR38DETT engine sounds by pressing this button on the Pedestal:
Thoughts
I really enjoy the big GT-R Logo and this Pedestal overall. You may notice the thick groove around the top of the Pedestal. I have seen other builders have received a clear acrylic case for this engine display, but I have not been offered one and I do not know how to get one.
