The Engine Support
Step 01
Fit the locating pin at the straight end of Support A to the matching hole at this location on the Upright, and align the screw holes as shown.
The locating pins of each Support are in different places, so they will only align to the correct section of the Upright:
Secure Support A to the Upright with two (2) LM screws.
This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Step 02
In the same way, fit the locating pin at the straight end of Support C to the matching hole at this location on the Upright, align the screw holes, and secure it into place with two (2) LM screws.
NOTE: These Supports are attached in a clockwise direction when looking down on the top of the Upright:
Step 03
Continuing on, fit the locating pin at the straight end of Support D to the matching hole at this location on the Upright, align the screw holes, and secure it into place with two (2) LM screws.
Step 04
Fit the locating pin at the straight end of Support B to the matching hole at this location on the Upright, align the screw holes, and secure it into place with two (2) LM screws.
Step 05
Fit the Support C-1 onto the keyed post at the curved end of Support C as shown, and secure it into place with one (1) LM screw:
Step 06
Fit the Support D-1 onto the keyed post at the curved end of Support D as shown, and secure it into place with one (1) LM screw:
Step 07
Fit the pin of Support B-1 into the matching alignment hole at the flat end of Support B as shown, align the screw hole, and secure it into place with one (1) LM screw:
Step 08
Retrieve your engine assembly from Engine Pack 27. Align the Supports of our Upright assembly to the bottom of the engine, as shown:
Step 09
First, secure Support B-1 to the Oil Pan with one (1) OM screw, as shown:
Next, secure Support C-1 and Support D-1 to the rear of the engine with two (2) LM screws:
Finally, turn the engine upright and secure Support A to the Right Support B with one (1) LM screw, as shown:
Step 10
Retrieve your Pedestal assembly from the previous pack. Fit the base of the Upright down into the center of the Pedestal, aligning the two locating pins as shown:
Secure the Upright to the Pedestal from underneath with four (4) CM screws:

Thoughts
That’s it! We have completed our Nissan GT-R (R35) subscription extension and ended up with a very nice cutaway replica of the beautiful VR38DETT engine. I’ve said it before, but I only built the GT-R so I could build this engine. Happily, it did not disappoint me!
