Engine Intake Pipes
Step 01
Slot the pegs on the Left and Right Intake Pipes into these holes of the Engine Room Bay.
These parts are identical, so it doesn’t matter which is which:
Secure from below with four (4) GP screws:
Step 02
Push the Power Steering Pump onto the post (circled below) at the front of the Engine Room Bay, ensuring the pipe fits into this hole (arrow below) in the Engine Front Cover:
Secure the Power Steering Pump from below with one (1) GP screw:
Finally, press the Power Steering Cover into the top of the Power Steering Pump.
This did not happen for me. There is a half-circle hole in the top of the pump, yet the cover has a round peg:
I had to remove the Power Steering Pump and drill out the hole:
Then, I was able to put the cover onto the pump and re-install it:
I realized after working on the next pack that I did not take a photo of the pump installed, so ignore the extra bits installed for now:
Step 03
Push the Left Engine Soft Pipe into this hole of the Engine Room Bay:
NOTE: I missed a critical part of this step and didn’t notice it until I almost finished the next pack: the small black cable should fit under these Soft Pipes and be notched into the groove. This is a photo of it after I fixed it in the next pack:
Secure these Soft Pipes into place from below with one (1) BP screw:
Step 04
Similar to the previous step, push the Right Engine Soft Pipe into this hole of the Engine Room Bay:
NOTE: I missed the same critical part of this step too, so here is a photo it after I fixed it in the next pack:
Secure these Soft Pipes into place from below with one (1) BP screw:
Step 05
Slide the (peg end) of the Long Air Cond Rail into the hole at the back of the Engine Bay Room and the other end into this hole at the front:
Secure from below with two (2) BP screws:
Step 06
Fit the L-shape Air Cond Rail into these holes of the Engine Room Bay:
Secure from below with two (2) BP screws:
Step 07
Slot the pegs of the Air Cond Rail into these locations at the back of the Engine Bay Room:
Secure from below with three (3) BP screws:
No matter how much I tried, the middle screw was not long enough to reach the peg so I left it out. The other two screws hold the rail just fine:
Step 08
Push the Engine Oil Ruler (Dipstick) into the matching hole of the Engine Room Bay.
The Engine Oil Ruler has a small, keyed tab on it that aligns to the hole at the bottom of the Engine Room Bay:
Secure from below with one (1) BP screw:
Thoughts
It was an interesting choice by Die Cast Club/Eaglemoss not to model the entire engine in this build. However, with as much other small details they add instead, I don’t think it is necessary. You can only see it from the top anyway as the bottom of the car is completely covered with paneling.
