Engine Parts
Step 01
Push the Spray Tank Cover into this hole of the Engine Room Bay.
This part is keyed, so it will only fit one way:
Secure from below with one (1) BP screw:
Step 02
Slot the two ends of the Engine Front Hose into these holes of the Engine Room Bay:
Secure from below with two (2) BP screws:
Step 03
Slot the Left and Right Air Filter Boxes onto the pegs at the front of the Engine Room Bay.
These are labelled L and R to identify them easier. Note the two pegs and single post each part has:
The Left Air Filter Box fits here:
The Right Air Filter Box fits here:
My Left Air Filter Box did not initially fit because it had a large piece of extra plastic flashing on it that needed to be clipped off:
Now, both boxes can slide down over the Intake Pipes and fit into the car nicely:
Secure both Air Filter Boxes from below with two (2) DP screws, one on each side:
Step 04
Fit the Manifold Intake Middle Section into the matching recess of the Manifold With Intake Pipe as shown:
Secure this into place from below with four (4) BP screws:
Next, fit the Middle Section Nissan Logo into the Manifold Intake Middle Section.
Make sure this is right side up:
Secure the logo into place from below with one (1) BP screw:
Step 05
Slide the Left and Right Engine Hoses into these slots on the back of the Manifold With Intake Pipe and secure with four (4) BP screws.
These parts are different, but not labelled. This photo has the left hose on the left, and the right hose on the right. They will not fit backwards:
Step 06
Slot the round end of the Engine Oil Cap Lower Hose over the post on the Manifold With Intake Pipe, and ensure the peg on the hose goes into the matching hole.
The round end goes over this post (circled below) while the peg on the hose goes into this hole (arrow below):
Secure the Engine Oil Cap Lower Hose into place with one (1) BP screw:
Make sure this peg is fully seated:
Step 07
Fit the Left and Right Actuator Side Hoses into these slots of the Manifold With Intake Pipe and secure with two (2) BP screws.
These parts are not labelled either, but they will only fit one way. In this photo, the left side hose is on the left and the right side hose on the right:
Step 08
Slot the Engine Room Tower Bar into these three holes of the Engine Room Bay:
Secure from below with three (3) BP screws:
Step 09
Fit the manifold assembly down onto the Engine Room Bay, aligning the center peg into the engine and intake pipes to the outer holes:
Secure the two Intake Pipes from below with two (2) DP screws:
Finally insert the Engine Oil Cover into the manifold:
Thoughts
That pretty much wraps up the construction of the engine bay for the GT-R. It looks pretty darn good! Definitely more hoses and other details that my other models do not have. Keep this safe for a while as it won’t be installed until later packs.
