The Battery Components

Step 01

Retrieve your GT-R chassis and turn it upside down. Thread the plug and wires of the Battery Box & Cables through this slot at the front of the chassis.

My ON/OFF Switch was already connected to my Battery Box in the parts bag, so I threaded everything through this slot:

Then, place the Battery Box & Cables into the matching space above the slot, as seen below:

Secure the Battery Box & Cables into place with four (4) AM screws, as shown.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Step 02

Insert the tabs of the Battery Cover into the two holes at the front of the Battery Box, lower the rear of the cover down, and secure the Battery Cover closed with one (1) PM screw.

This is the screw you will remove later to install three (3) fresh AAA sized batteries into your model:

Step 03

Flip the chassis over and fit the ON/OFF Switch into this slot at the front of the Battery Box, as shown.

This switch can really be installed either way, but I followed the diagram in the instructions:

Fit the Switch Holder over the ON/OFF Switch to hold it in place, as shown.

The pin and the wires of the ON/OFF Switch should pass through the notch in the Switch Holder:

Secure the Switch Holder to the chassis with two (2) AM screws:

Step 04

Connect the plug of the Battery Box & Cables to the matching plug of the ON/OFF Switch with Cable.

My plugs came pre-connected, so I did not need to complete this step:

Step 05

Place the three Cable Holders over the wiring, as shown. Secure the Cable Holders to the chassis with three (3) DM screws, one for each.

The forward Cable Holder secures just the ON/OFF Switch wires, while the next two Cable Holders secure both the ON/OFF Switch and Battery Box wires:

Thoughts

This marks the first of the wiring we will need to install to power all of the lighting and sound components. Make sure your connections are good so you don’t have to troubleshoot as many electrical problems later.
