Front Left Suspension
Before we start, take a look at how the Stroke slots into (and twist locks into) the Upper Mount:
Step 01
Slide the Coil Spring over this end of the Upper Mount:
Step 02
Slide the Stroke into the open end of the Coil Spring. Align the tab of the Stroke with the slot in the Upper Mount and compress these parts together. Twist the Stroke slightly counterclockwise to lock it into the Upper Mount, trapping the Coil Spring in place.
Step 03
Retrieve the Left Lower Swing Arm assembly from the previous pack. Slide the forked ends of the Stroke over this section of the Left Lower Swing Arm, aligning the holes:
Secure these together with one FM screw and nut, as shown:
Step 04
Fit this post of the Knuckle Base up into the end of the Left Lower Swing Arm, as shown:
Secure these together with one (1) NM screw. Once fully tightened, it should still be able to rotate slightly.
This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Thoughts
Many of these parts are free to move about (and are supposed to be). I appreciate the level of detail in this model’s suspension. It far exceeds the complexity of my other car builds.
