“Now you will attach the Right Trunk Hinge parts to your model’s Trunk Lid.”
The Right Trunk Hinge
Fit the Right Hinge A and Right Hinge B onto these posts of the Right Assembly Base.
Note the Right Hinge A has an ‘S’ shape, and the Right Hinge B has a curved shape. Be sure these are placed as shown:
Secure the Right Hinges to the Right Assembly Base with two (2) IM screws, one for each hinge.
Do not over-tighten any of the screws in this pack as these parts need to be able to rotate so the trunk can open and close. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Retrieve your Trunk Lid assembly from the previous pack. Align the eyelet of the Right Upper Absorber to this screw hole on the right edge of the Trunk Lid as shown, and secure it into place with one (1) IM screw.
Align the free ends of the Right Hinges to these screw holes on the right side of the Trunk Lid as shown, then secure the Hinges to the Trunk Lid with two (2) IM screws.
You may have to rotate the Right Upper Absorber out of the way:
Align the eyelet of the Right Lower Absorber to this post of the Right Lower Absorber Base as shown, and secure it into place with one (1) BM screw:
Retrieve your Body assembly last worked on in Pack 90 and carefully turn it upside down on a soft cloth. Fit the Right Lower Absorber Base onto this post at the right-side of the trunk opening.
This post on the Body is keyed to match a slot in the Right Lower Absorber Base, so it will only fit the correct way. Make sure the post of the Right Lower Absorber passes down through the hole, as shown:
Secure the Right Lower Absorber Base to the Body with one (1) GM screw:
When you turn the Body back upright, the Right Lower Absorber should look like this:
This trunk hinge can be a little confusing to assembly, but the pictures here should help. We will build the other hinge in the next pack.
