“In this [pack], you will attach the Left Trunk Hinge parts to your NISSAN GT-R (R35) model’s Trunk Lid.”
This pack will be identical to the previous one, just with the Left Trunk Hinge parts. But, we will finally attach the Trunk to the Body!

Build
The Left Trunk Hinge
Step 01
Fit the Left Hinge A and Left Hinge B onto these posts of the Left Assembly Base.
Note the Left Hinge A has an ‘S’ shape, and the Left Hinge B has a curved shape. Be sure these are placed as shown:
Secure the Left Hinges to the Left Assembly Base with two (2) IM screws, one for each hinge.
Do not over-tighten any of the screws in this pack as these parts need to be able to rotate so the trunk can open and close. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Step 02
Retrieve your Trunk Lid assembly from the previous pack. Align the eyelet of the Left Upper Absorber to this screw hole on the left edge of the Trunk Lid as shown, and secure it into place with one (1) IM screw.
Step 03
Align the free ends of the Left Hinges to these screw holes on the left side of the Trunk Lid as shown, then secure the Hinges to the Trunk Lid with two (2) IM screws.
You may have to rotate the Left Upper Absorber out of the way:
Here is the entire Trunk Lid with both hinges installed:
Step 04
Align the eyelet of the Left Lower Absorber to this post of the Left Lower Absorber Base as shown, and secure it into place with one (1) BM screw:
Step 05
Retrieve your Body assembly from the previous pack and carefully turn it upside down on a soft cloth. Fit the Left Lower Absorber Base onto this post at the left-side of the trunk opening.
This post on the Body is keyed to match a slot in the Left Lower Absorber Base, so it will only fit the correct way. Make sure the post of the Left Lower Absorber passes down through the hole, as shown:
Secure the Left Lower Absorber Base to the Body with one (1) GM screw:
Turning the Body back upright, the Left Lower Absorber should look like this:
Step 06
Bring the Trunk Lid assembly to the Body and slide the shafts of both Upper Absorbers down inside the matching Lower Absorbers on each side, as shown:
With the Absorbers aligned, carefully lower the Trunk Lid to the Body and fit the posts of the hinge Assembly Bases on each side into the matching holes of the Body:
Step 07
While holding the Trunk Lid closed in place, carefully turn the Body assembly over once again. Then, secure the hinge Assembly Bases to the Body with four (4) AM screws, two on each side.
I chose to use some painter’s tape to hold the trunk closed so it would not move while I secured it:
Thoughts
The design of these Hinges makes opening and closing the Trunk Lid a bit awkward. You need to lift the Trunk Lid up a bit, then it slides up and away from the body. However, it does hold itself in the open for display purposes.
